Ken Santori, Director of the Division of Extramural Research at the National Institute on Aging (NIA), recently presented at the Gerontological Society of America's annual meeting, providing tips for early career investigators as they begin applying for NIH funding. Among his many tips are knowing your eligibility status (Early Stage Investigator, New Investigator, both); reading and understanding the full funding announcement; and telling a focused, coherent story about your project.
