Seed Grants Programs

Arts and Humanities Seed Grants Program

The Office of Research Services (ORS) is requesting applications for the Arts and Humanities Seed Grants program. The program is designed to provide support for faculty proposal development efforts that seek external funding in the arts and humanities. It is expected that this program, funded and managed by ORS, will result in growth in proposal submissions to external funding sources in support of research and creative activities, ultimately contributing to CU Denver's 2030 Strategic Plan Goal 3 of "Research Grand Challenges" and to "Become internationally known for our research and creative work." Applications should include at least one faculty in any college or school whose research, scholarship and creative activity would be considered arts and/or humanities, including tenure/tenure-track faculty and IRC faculty with research allocated in their contract. Applications may include faculty collaborators in any field including those outside of arts and/or humanities.

Convergence Research Seed Grant Program (2024)

Cross disciplinary teams of CU Denver faculty from across the campus are invited to submit proposals for funding to support planning, team formation, and proposal development around “high Impact” research and creative work. The goal of this program is to bring national and international recognition to CU Denver in research and creative work with multi-disciplinary teams that can directly contribute to CU Denver's 2030 Strategic Plan Goal 3 of "Research Grand Challenges" and to "Become internationally known for our research and creative work."

This grant program places emphasis on high-risk/high-payoff research, projects with larger societal impact, convergent research approaches, engagement of broad stakeholder communities, and the adoption of innovative team science formations. With the convergence research grant program, multi-disciplinary teams are asked to identify important challenges, ones taking a wider range of skills and expertise to be successful than more traditional research projects. This funding program will provide funding and resources to build effective relationships with partner groups, institutions, and stakeholder communities.

Open/All-Disciplines Seed Grants Program

The Office of Research Services (ORS) is requesting applications for the “Open” Seed Grants program. The program is designed to provide support for faculty proposal development efforts that seek external funding for traditional research activities but that require small amounts of funding to launch initial research activities providing the initial data, archival material, and community engagement activities necessary to complete an external grant application. It is expected that this program, funded and managed by ORS, will result in growth in proposal submissions to external funding sources in support of research and creative activities, ultimately contributing to CU Denver's 2030 Strategic Plan Goal 3 of "Research Grand Challenges" and to "Become internationally known for our research and creative work."
